Basic Life Support Course Outline
What our learners in Grantham say
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Basic Life Support course for?
Gain the skills to make a difference when it counts. Our Grantham based Basic Life Support course is designed to take you from a beginner or refresher level to being fully confident in delivering high-quality CPR and using an AED. We cater to both clinical staff and the general public, offering a supportive environment led by expert instructors.
You will leave knowing exactly how to apply practical, life-saving knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Where in Grantham is the training held?
For Grantham training, we usually choose venues on the western side of town with easy access from the A1, A52 and wider road network. These locations are often convenient for learners travelling from Grantham itself, Gonerby Hill Foot and nearby areas around Grantham and District Hospital, and they can also be easier to reach from Grantham station or local bus routes than more congested central venues.
We prefer practical venues with good car parking and simple arrival routes so the day is easier for attendees and more cost-effective to run.
Full venue details and arrival instructions are normally sent around 14 days before your course.
Do you offer a separate Adult and Paediatric BLS course?
We offer separate, tailored courses for organisations and dedicated group sessions, all of our public courses are delivered as combined sessions.
While you might not work with both adults and children every day, having the awareness to help a casualty of any age is vital. We think it is better to be prepared for any situation.
There is a lot of crossover between Adult and Paediatric BLS. For example, the core principles of the primary survey and incident assessment remain the same. By combining these sessions, you get a more complete set of skills.
Is Basic Life Support accredited training?
Yes. Our Basic Life Support course is accredited by The First Aid Industry Body and aligns with 2025 Resuscitation Council UK guidelines. It is also mapped to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) and led by experienced healthcare professionals.
Upon completion, you will receive a certificate providing 3 hours of Verifiable CPD, fully recognised by the CQC, NMC, GDC, and GMC for clinical compliance and annual appraisals.
How long is a Basic Life Support certificate valid for?
In line with UK national guidelines, your Basic Life Support certification will be valid for 12 months. We recommend booking an annual refresher to keep your practical skills sharp and your compliance up to date.
Do I need any previous medical experience to attend?
Our trainers will tailor the session to you. This course is designed to be accessible for complete beginners while still meeting the rigorous standards required for experienced clinical staff refreshing their skills.
What should I wear for the session?
We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (like trousers and a t-shirt) and flat shoes. Our training involves active clinical simulation and practical skills, such as CPR and recovery positions, so you will need to move around freely and kneel on the floor.
What should I bring on the day?
As this is an accredited programme, please bring your booking confirmation, photo ID and a notepad. All training materials are provided. Please also bring your own refreshments.
