Phlebotomy and Cannulation
Nurse-led Phlebotomy (venepuncture) and Cannulation training covering insertion techniques, IV access, complications and best practice. Small groups with hands-on simulated practice.
Course outline
- Anatomy and physiology of veins, including site selection for optimal venepuncture and cannulation access.
- Infection prevention and control standards, with hand hygiene, PPE, and aseptic non-touch technique (ANTT).
- Phlebotomy (venepuncture) procedure step-by-step: equipment preparation, patient preparation, phlebotomy skill, and labelling.
- Cannulation skills: vein selection, catheter insertion, securing devices, and flushing.
- Recognising and managing complications like haematomas, infiltration, phlebitis, and extravasation.

Basic Life Support
Accredited, nurse-led Adult and Paediatric BLS course covering CPR, AED use, anaphylaxis and choking. Designed for beginners and learners who need practical confidence for work or clinical roles.
Course outline
- Assess an emergency scene safely, check a casualty’s response, and carry out a Primary Survey (DR ABC).
- Learn when and how to give life‑saving CPR, use an AED safely, and know when to call for help or stop resuscitation.
- Practise high‑quality CPR and AED use on manikins to build confidence and good technique.
- Conduct a Secondary Survey, place a casualty into the Recovery Position, and perform ongoing breathing checks.
- Recognise the signs of a partially or completely blocked airway and provide effective treatment for choking.

TinyHearts Baby & Child First Aid
Nurse-led TinyHearts training for parents, grandparents and carers. Practise baby and child CPR plus everyday first aid for bumps, bruises, bleeding, burns and breaks, with newborns welcome where needed.
Course outline
- Recognise when a baby, infant, or child is unwell and know how to respond in an emergency.
- Perform high-quality baby and child CPR, give rescue breaths, and use a defibrillator when it's needed most.
- Manage an unresponsive child or choking baby - including what to do if your infant is having a seizure, fainting, or choking.
- Provide everyday paediatric first aid for allergic reactions, bumps, bruises, bleeding, burns, breaks, and head injuries.
- Spot "Red Flags" like Sepsis and meningitis in babies and children, and know exactly what to do while waiting for help.

Emergency First Aid at Work
One-day HSE-compliant Emergency First Aid at Work for nominated workplace first aiders. Learn CPR, AED use and how to manage common injuries and emergencies, with blended eLearning plus practical classroom teaching.
Course outline
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider, including safe use of first aid equipment and effective infection control on an emergency first aid at work course.
- Assess an incident scene safely, call for help appropriately, and perform a Primary Survey (DR ABC) to prioritise life‑saving actions in the workplace.
- Learn when and how to perform CPR, safely use an AED, recognise when to call for help, when to stop CPR, and manage common difficulties.
- Conduct a Secondary Survey, place a casualty in the Recovery Position, and carry out ongoing breathing checks.
- Identify different types of bleeding and treat small cuts, grazes, bruises, splinters, and minor burns or scalds.
