Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Basic Life Support course for?

Gain the skills to make a difference when it counts. Our Loughborough based Basic Life Support course is designed to take you from a beginner or refresher level to being fully confident in delivering high-quality CPR and using an AED. We cater to both clinical staff and the general public, offering a supportive environment led by expert instructors. You will leave knowing exactly how to apply practical, life-saving knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Where in Loughborough is the training held?
Situated in the heart of the Charnwood borough, our Loughborough sessions are held in venues ideal for learners from Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Coalville, and Melton Mowbray. We look for sites that balance central access with ease of parking. Full joining instructions, including the specific venue address, are sent two weeks in advance. If you require specific adjustments or accessibility support, please contact our team before booking.
Is Basic Life Support accredited training?
Yes. Our Basic Life Support course is fully aligned with the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) Guidelines, mapped to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) and led by experienced healthcare professionals. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate providing 3 hours of Verifiable CPD, fully recognised by the CQC, NMC, GDC, and GMC for clinical compliance and annual appraisals.
How long is a Basic Life Support certificate valid for?
In line with UK national guidelines, your Basic Life Support certification will be valid for 12 months. We recommend booking an annual refresher to keep your practical skills sharp and your compliance up to date.
Do I need any previous medical experience to attend?
Our trainers will tailor the session to you. This course is designed to be accessible for complete beginners while still meeting the rigorous standards required for experienced clinical staff refreshing their skills.
What should I wear for the session?
We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (like trousers and a t-shirt) and flat shoes. Our training involves active clinical simulation and practical skills, such as CPR and recovery positions, so you will need to move around freely and kneel on the floor.
What should I bring on the day?

As this is an accredited programme, please bring your booking confirmation, photo ID and a notepad. All training materials are provided. Please also bring your own refreshments.
