"Matt and Clare were hugely engaging and went through every section without feeling rushed. They got everyone involved which I think is very important for first aid application. It has made me so much more confident that if I ever came across a first aid emergency, I’d know that I could genuinely help and support whoever’s in need."

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Use HealthCore?

Our Training

Training should be friendly, confidence-building, and practical. Our sessions are hands-on, scenario-based, and taught in plain English. We prioritize practice over slides, using industry-leading simulation equipment (from Laerdal and Practiman) to ensure realism. We keep the atmosphere relaxed and supportive, ensuring every candidate leaves feeling ready to act when it counts.

Our Company

As a nurse-led provider based in the East Midlands, we set a higher standard for safety training. Your course will be delivered exclusively by Registered Healthcare Professionals with current NHS clinical experience. We bridge the gap between theory and reality, giving you the confidence that comes from learning from those who save lives for a living. Don't settle for tick-box training when lives depend on it.

Who is the Emergency First Aid at Work course for?

Our Emergency First Aid at Work based in the East Midlands is perfect for nominated first aiders in low-risk workplaces. Whether you're a complete beginner or just need a refresher, our clinical instructors make learning easy and practical. This training is fully HSE 1981 compliant and equips you with everything you need to handle workplace emergencies with confidence.

Where in the East Midlands is the training held?

We run public courses across the East Midlands, usually just outside the main city centres rather than in expensive inner-city rooms. When we choose a venue we look for free or low-cost parking, a room the right size for the group, easy road access from the M1 and the main A-roads, and somewhere you can reach by bus or tram where that helps. Exact venue details and arrival instructions are sent about two weeks before your Emergency First Aid at Work course, once numbers are confirmed and we have locked in the right site for that date.

Is Emergency First Aid at Work accredited training?

Yes. Our Emergency First Aid at Work course is accredited by The First Aid Industry Body and aligns with 2025 Resuscitation Council UK guidelines. It is nationally recognised as equivalent to the Ofqual Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF). You will receive a certificate that satisfies the HSE Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 for workplace first aiders.

How is Emergency First Aid at Work assessed?

Emergency First Aid at Work is assessed through a mix of continuous practical assessment and a final written evaluation. You can access our mock Emergency First Aid at Work exam here.

What is a "Blended" element?

The course includes around 4 hours of e-learning delivered through our provider, eLearn. This means you can complete part of your training online at your own pace from any device. You must complete e-learning before your practical day so you can undertake the required assessments. If you're unsure about anything in the material, don't worry. Your qualified instructor will be there on the day to answer any questions and help bring everything together.

How long is a Emergency First Aid at Work certificate valid for?

In line with HSE 1981 guidelines, your Emergency First Aid at Work certification is valid for 3 years. To keep your practical skills sharp and your workplace compliance up to date, we highly recommend booking a short annual refresher here in the East Midlands.

What should I wear for the session?

We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (like trousers and a t-shirt) and flat shoes. Our training involves active clinical simulation and practical skills, such as CPR and recovery positions, so you will need to move around freely and kneel on the floor.

What should I bring on the day?

As this is an accredited programme, please bring your booking confirmation, photo ID and a notepad. All training materials are provided. Please also bring your own refreshments.
