Frequently asked questions
Why use HealthCore?
Who is the Emergency First Aid at Work course for?
Our Emergency First Aid at Work based in the East Midlands is perfect for nominated first aiders in low-risk workplaces. Whether you're a complete beginner or just need a refresher, our clinical instructors make learning easy and practical. This training is fully HSE 1981 compliant and equips you with everything you need to handle workplace emergencies with confidence.
What is EFAW?
EFAW stands for Emergency First Aid at Work. It is the blended qualification for nominated first aiders in lower-risk workplaces such as offices, shops and many schools. It is HSE 1981 compliant and nationally recognised as equivalent to the Ofqual Level 3 Award in EFAW.
How long does EFAW take?
You complete around 4 hours of e-learning first, then a 3.5-hour practical class. The e-learning must be finished before your classroom day so we can complete the assessments.
Do I need EFAW or the 3-day First Aid at Work?
EFAW is for lower-risk settings. Higher-risk workplaces typically need the 3-day First Aid at Work course. If you are not sure which one you need, ask us and we will help you choose.
