During your 1.5-hour Benedict’s Law Training for Schools session in Leicester, our nurse-led tutors will cover:
Understand Benedict’s Law and the September 2026 statutory guidance, and how these allergy requirements apply to everyday school life.
Confidently read, interpret, and follow pupils’ Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs) so allergy and anaphylaxis care is embedded into classroom practice.
Identify common school allergy triggers, including food allergens, insect stings, latex, and environmental factors around your site.
Recognise how allergy and anaphylaxis symptoms can look different across age groups, from early years pupils to teenagers.
Spot critical red-flag signs of a severe allergic reaction that indicate a pupil needs immediate emergency adrenaline and a 999 call.
Practise using EpiPen and Jext trainer devices to build muscle memory for safe, correct auto-injector use in line with anaphylaxis guidance.
Take part in realistic, school-based simulation drills to rehearse staff roles, communication, and effective handover to emergency services during an anaphylaxis emergency.
Complete an assessment to receive a certificate accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB).

This course concludes with a formal assessment in Benedict’s Law Training for Schools. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded an industry-recognised certificate confirming your competence.

Our Benedict’s Law allergy and anaphylaxis training is designed for schools and educational settings that support pupils with allergies or are updating their policies in line with Benedict’s Law. It’s suitable for primary, secondary, and SEND schools, as well as academies and multi-academy trusts that want consistent staff training across sites
Do I need any previous allergy or first aid training?
No previous allergy or first aid training is required. The course is accessible for all school staff, from teachers and TAs to lunchtime supervisors and admin teams, while still being detailed enough for pastoral leads, SENCOs, and senior leaders responsible for allergy policy and anaphylaxis planning
Do all school staff need training on adrenaline auto-injectors?
Yes. From Summer 2026 all school and childcare staff are required to have allergy and anaphylaxis training which includes the use of adrenaline auto-injectors (EpiPen and Jext).
Is this course compliant with Benedict’s Law and current school guidance?
Yes. The syllabus is built around the allergy and anaphylaxis expectations introduced by Benedict’s Law and the updated statutory guidance for schools, helping you align daily practice, IHPs, and emergency procedures with what regulators and inspectors expect to see in place.
Does the course include simulation scenarios for schools?
We include scenario-based practice and optional live-action simulations based on school situations, such as reactions in the dining hall, playground, or classroom. This helps staff apply allergy and anaphylaxis knowledge to real-world school contexts and rehearse roles, communication, and handover to emergency services.
