TinyHearts Baby & Child First Aid course outline

During your 2-hour TinyHearts Baby & Child First Aid session in Lincoln, our nurse-led tutors will cover:

Recognise when a baby, infant, or child is unwell and know how to respond in an emergency.
Perform high-quality baby and child CPR, give rescue breaths, and use a defibrillator when it's needed most.
Manage an unresponsive child or choking baby - including what to do if your infant is having a seizure, fainting, or choking.
Provide everyday paediatric first aid for allergic reactions, bumps, bruises, bleeding, burns, breaks, and head injuries.
Spot "Red Flags" like Sepsis and meningitis in babies and children, and know exactly what to do while waiting for help.
Communicate clearly with 999 emergency services, NHS 111, or your GP — giving them the right information when every second counts.

Frequently asked questions

Why use HealthCore?

Training should be friendly, confidence-building, and practical. Our sessions are hands-on, scenario-based, and taught in plain English. We prioritize practice over slides, using industry-leading simulation equipment (from Laerdal and Practiman) to ensure realism. We keep the atmosphere relaxed and supportive, ensuring every candidate leaves feeling ready to act when it counts. As a nurse-led provider based in the East Midlands, we set a higher standard for safety training. Your course will be delivered exclusively by Registered Healthcare Professionals with current NHS clinical experience. We bridge the gap between theory and reality, giving you the confidence that comes from learning from those who save lives for a living. Don't settle for tick-box training when lives depend on it.

When will I get the exact venue address for my Lincoln course?

Wherever possible the date listing already points you to the right side of town, for example Lincoln (North Hykeham) or Lincoln (Bracebridge Heath). About two weeks before your TinyHearts Baby & Child First Aid date we send the exact address and arrival details by email, once numbers are confirmed and the room is booked.

Who is the TinyHearts Baby & Child First Aid for?

The Tiny Hearts Life-Saving Skills for Parents Lincoln is perfect for parents, grandparents and carers who want to feel prepared to handle emergencies and first aid with babies and children. It’s also great for anyone looking after a little one - whether you’re expecting your first child or just want to brush up on your skills.  The session is relaxed, supportive and hands-on, helping you gain confidence in those important first moments before professional help arrives.  We understand that childcare can be tough, so we welcome newborns and children under one.

Looking for an accredited Paediatric First Aid session?

TinyHearts is designed mainly for parents, grandparents and carers. Our Paediatric First Aid Qualification is designed for anyone working with babies and children, including nursery staff, childminders, early years practitioners, teaching assistants, nannies and after-school or holiday club staff.

What should I wear for the session?

We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (like trousers and a t-shirt) and flat shoes. Our training involves active clinical simulation and practical skills, such as CPR and recovery positions, so you will need to move around freely and kneel on the floor.

Are children welcome at the session?

We understand that arranging childcare can be stressful and that you often want to keep your baby close. Please don't let that stop you from attending TinyHearts - we are more than happy to welcome little ones under the age of one to this session.

Can you deliver TinyHearts Baby & Child First Aid for my club or organisation?

We would be delighted to work with your Lincoln-based organisation. Please use the “Get a quote” function above to contact us with as much information as possible. All our instructors are healthcare professionals with enhanced criminal records checks.

Is TinyHearts accredited first aid training?

The TinyHearts programme is not accredited but does align with the learning outcomes set out for First Aid for Parents and Carers by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). It is also taught by healthcare professionals and in accordance with expert guidelines from the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK), The Children's Burns Trust and the UK Sepsis Trust.
